I get by with a little help from my friends...

Hello, dears! This is a call for help!

I have recently discovered that Zulu speaking babies love to sing english songs. I have already exhausted my knowledge of songs. I would love suggestions. (preferably action songs)

So far, I have sung:
The Princess Pat
The Banana Song
The Turtle Song
You Are My Sunshine
The Itsy Bitsy Spider
etc etc etc

Help if you can!
Siyabonga!

  1. Do you know "There was a Great Big Moose"? That was a big hit with my kids when i taught preschool. Also, "Open, Shut Them" is a fun one. I'll see if I can find videos of them for you.

  2. Another one: Don't know what it is called but you sit the baby on your lap and say:

"This is the way the lady rides, trot trot trot." (you bounce them up and down just a little bit when you say 'trot')
"This is the way the gentleman rides, gallop, gallop, gallop." (The bouncing goes a little higher and faster)
"This is the way the farmer rides, jig-get-ty, jug-get-ty, jig-get-ty, jug-get-ty, jig-get-ty, jug-get-ty, JIG!" (at that point you are bouncing them all around and then you let them 'fall' through your knees on the last 'JIG'
Its a fun and cute game to play. If this doesn't make sense I am happy to act it out on skype for you sometime soon!
